For 100 years, Heil has been the industry leader in specialized truck body manufacture and product support. Heil produces the widest variety of refuse collection bodies (garbage trucks) available: Front Loaders, Rear Loaders, Side Loaders, and Recycling Units. Heil is renowned for after-the-sale support, and their truck bodies are noted for productivity, long life, and ease of maintenance. Fully-automated "robotic arm" collection bodies have been a specialty for over 20 years, and set the standard for productivity and operator safety. Heil also produces its DuraClass® line of dump truck bodies/hoists to the hauliing industry, in addition to the Bayne ThinLine® refuse container lifts. Heil's line of dump bodies is the market leader for the private premium hauler.

Heil sells its products to municipal customers, national accounts, and independent waste haulers via a world-class network of approximately 50 distributors, but also sells direct in certain geographic areas as well. After-the-sale, customer training and support is unparalleled, with Heil providing both field and factory training - as well as two industry-first Mobile Training Trailers to train the operators & mechanics that use and service their products. Heil's Engineered Systems Group contracts, designs and installs major recycling and waste-to-energy facilities throughout the world.

Heil was a family business until it was acquired by Dover in 1993. Since then, Heil has followed a strategy of investing in production technology and process improvement to enhance Heil's time-honored tradition of building Trucks That Work©
