Tipper Tie, Inc. is the world's foremost leader in clip closure technology for the packaging and processing industry and is committed to providing superior products and service to markets around the world. Over the last 50 years, Tipper Tie has grown into an organization with a strong international presence, providing package closure solutions to customers all over the world. In fact, international sales currently generate over 50% of total sales for the company.   Tipper Tie develops and manufactures a wide variety of equipment and products that principally employ a clip as the means of item closure. Their equipment is used to package and process a wide variety of products including deli and sausage products, smoked meats, hams, cheeses and all types of poultry products. In addition, their equipment is used to package products outside of the food industry including trees, explosives, and tropical fish just to name a few.   Tipper Tie is also a market leader in the production of aluminum wire and aluminum wire products. In 1984, Tipper Tie began operating a full scale aluminum wire mill at the headquarters in Apex, North Carolina, which includes wire drawing, annealing, etching, spooling and coiling to customers' specifications. They began manufacturing aluminum wire solely for the production of Tipper Clips, but today they also make wire for industries such as cold-heading, chub-packaging, public utilities, electric fencing, and the general industrial market.   The company was acquired by Dover in 1981.
