Hydro Systems

 

 

Hydro Systems is the world's largest independent manufacturer of chemical proportioning and dispensing systems. The company's products are used to accurately dilute and/or dispense concentrated cleaning chemicals so they can be safely and effectively used for commercial cleaning. These products are most commonly used in the food service, health care, supermarket, institutional, school, building service contractor, and industrial markets. The benefits of Hydro's products include cost control, increased worker safety, proper chemical performance (especially important in bacteria-control areas like supermarkets and health care), and environmental improvement (less chemical entering the sewage system).

Hydro's dilution control product range uses common line water pressure to hydraulically operate its systems. By eliminating the need for electronics and pumps, costs are minimized, and the need for expensive repair and downtime is eliminated. The dispensing systems for commercial dishwash and laundry applications, provided by Hydro's subsidiary Nova Controls, use simple peristaltic pumps to deliver the required products to commercial dishwashing and laundry machines. These pumps are controlled by signals from the machine which indicate the advance to a new washing cycle, thus requiring the introduction of an accurate amount of specified chemical.

Hydro's products are generally sold to manufacturers of concentrated cleaning chemicals, who market them with their branded chemicals and offer a complete chemical management system to their distributors or end user customers. A small portion (<10%) of the company's products are sold to distributors, or to OEMs for inclusion into a larger system, such as automatic car washing.

Hydro Systems was privately held from its inception in 1963 to its sale to Dover in 1997. With its rapidly expanding international focus, and its history of technological leadership and unrivaled customer care, the company is well positioned to continue its solid growth for years to come.
