These awards recognize women who exemplify leadership within their manufacturing companies and make an impact through advocacy, mentorship, engagement and promotion.

“Dover is thrilled to have Elizabeth and Michele honored,” said Dover’s Organizational Development Manager, Amanda Brooks. “This initiative allows the industry to recognize the achievements of talented, dedicated employees inside the organization, as well as highlight women making an impact not only within the workplace, but also in the community.”

Michele Garigliano is the Vice President and General Manager of K&L Microwave, which designs and manufacturers Radio Frequency and Microwave devices for Commercial, Military and Space applications. Garigliano supports change and encourages continuous improvement within the company through recognizing employees’ successes and supporting their development. She is based in Salisbury, MD.

Elizabeth Gubrud-Howe joined Dover over 10 years ago and currently leads the National Sales Team at Midland Manufacturing and manages the Repair Business Unit. Gubrud-Howe embodies the “STEP mentality” every day, through encouraging women to take risks and cultivating an environment that builds confidence. She is based in Skokie, IL.

STEP Ahead is part of a larger initiative of The Manufacturing Institute to address the skills gap in manufacturing, partially attributed to the underrepresentation of women in the industry. STEP Ahead was established in 2012 to promote the role of women in the manufacturing industry and celebrate those making a difference.
