Hillphoenix, part of Dover Food Retail, helped students in Rockdale County, Georgia, get back to school by donating essentials and supplies such as backpacks, notebooks, folders, writing utensils and cleaning supplies to Peeks Chapel Elementary School. The donation was part of Hillphoenix’s commitment to engaging with the local community.
The Employee Engagement Committee at Hillphoenix arranged the initiative and encouraged all departments to donate school supplies and in the end, over 1,500 items were donated.
“This donation is such a blessing as this allows us to provide additional support to our students and families,” said Sabrina Grant, Principal at Peeks Chapel Elementary School. “We'd like to sincerely thank Dover Food Retail and Hillphoenix for showering our scholars with school supplies and essentials.”
“The goal of the donations is to take some of the financial burden off families and the school district,” said Tiffany Hylton, Human Resources at Dover Food Retail. “We are proud to have held our first annual back-to-school drive and together we donated over 1,500 school supplies to the students at Peeks Chapel. This was a great team effort on behalf of everyone.”
