Laura Watson of Madison, IN, is among the honorees for the WLKY Bell Award that recognizes adults and high school youth who have demonstrated selfless volunteer efforts that inspire others to engage in community service.
Watson, an EMT for Nortons King’s Daughters’ Health, spends countless hours at car accidents, suicides, overdoses and other medical emergencies. She also has a full-time job at Vehicle Service Group in Madison.
She volunteers with the Salvation Army’s many programs including serving as a youth leader for at-risk females grades 6-12. She also served as a child advocate for Voices for Children for three years in Jefferson County and is an active member at The Well Community Church in Cross Plains, Indiana.
A breast cancer survivor with Parkinson’s Disease, Watson attends cancer rallies and runs to support that mission and many others. She and her husband have six children and five grandchildren.
