Over 20 volunteers from Dover’s Anthony in Georgia spent the day at Open Hand Atlanta. Open Hand helps people prevent or better manage chronic disease through comprehensive nutritional care, which combines home-delivered meals and nutrition education as a means to reinforce the connection between informed food choices and improved quality of life.
Together the group prepared over 2,000 meals for low-income men, women, and children who are dealing with chronic disease in addition to homebound seniors and disabled individuals.
This event is part of the company’s community involvement initiative, Anthony Cares Too (ACT). In October 2012, Anthony began the ACT Program to provide all Anthony employees the opportunity to give back to the communities in which they live, and to charities that are close to their heart.
