In September, eight employees from Dover Fueling Solutions (DFS) participated in the Cateran Yomp, a 54-mile charity hike done in 24 hours across rural Perthshire, Scotland.

TCBQ4455The Cateran Yomp, a military term for a long-distance march, is one of the biggest, toughest events of its kind. Taking place in the foothills of the Cairngorm Mountains in Scotland, teams battle through 54 miles in 24 hours across the rugged terrain of the Scottish wilderness. The Yomp exists to raise vital funds for ABF The Soldiers' Charity, the British Army's national charity, providing support to soldiers, veterans and their immediate families.

The DFS team consisted of JB Ozan, Stuart McMillian, Mark Husband, Paul Mearns, Geoff Marshall, Lyn Air, Dennis Dodds and Courtney Halliday.

Geoff, Lyn, Dennis and Courtney finished with bronze medals for completing the first 22 miles of the event. Mark and Paul went home with silver medals for completing 36 miles of the hike. JB and Stuart decided to go for gold and completed all 54 miles in 24 hours, walking for 9 hours in the pitch-black to achieve the gold medal.

The team went above and beyond to meet their goals, and together they were able to raise over £1,200 (about $1,700) for the charity.
