Recognizing the profound challenges cancer patients and their families face, the Markem-Imaje UK team recently focused its philanthropic efforts on supporting the Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Centre, part of the Derby and Burton Hospital Charity network, which is near Markem-Imaje's facility in Nottingham, UK.
The Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Centre provides a confidential drop-in service for anyone who requires information and support about cancer and is living with or beyond this disease. They also help relatives and healthcare professionals. The center provides them with information and the opportunity to discuss treatments, side effects, and other cancer-related issues. They also offer assistance over the phone or via email/video call for those who are not able to access the service in person. Moreover, they can refer the patients to a local or national support group. The organization facilitates patients to take things at their own pace and helps them find the resources and the strength needed to face cancer.
The Markem-Imaje donation of € 8645, which was made possible by the generosity of our employees and a match from the Dover Foundation, will enable the Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Centre team to provide even better care and support to people living with cancer.
